Several offices for Deville Industries had been opened up in different places in the United States…Los Angeles, California; Seattle, Washington; Manhattan, New York; Phoenix, Arizona; and New Orleans, Louisiana. The Southern ones were probably the ones Danna Deville had never stepped foot into in her life until the past few weeks. She had lived up North all of her life, so a change in scenery had been needed and trying out the South’s way of life had seemed good enough for her. New Orleans was a strange adjustment, with its weird accents and fake French. She wasn’t much one for jazz music, which seemed to surround the city on every corner, but it was certainly full of interesting characters and quite an interesting variety of blood. That was one good thing about this whole place…Danna had been annoyed with the population as a whole the first day she got there, but their blood was damn good. It made the whole move worth it, and it made putting up with all of the different things a lot easier.
Of course, it was hard to pay attention to much else when you were as busy as Danna Deville. Not only did she have a family to take care of, but a reputation to earn back, a coven to reestablish, and a company to deal with. She had encouraged both Christian and Hailey to get jobs for the first time in their lives, and had her own responsibilities to deal with as well. Her father, Lucius Deville, had left his pride and joy in her hands: this company…He had created Deville Industries and had charmed his way to the status of business tycoon. He had been brilliant and had entrusted his legacy in her hands…It was hard for her to focus solely on the company, but she did her best. She at least visited the office once a week, and that day was today…A bright Tuesday morning in early spring…The sun was scorching and she felt a bit lightheaded upon entering the building.
“Sydney…Blood…” Danna ordered, voice half muttered as she passed her secretary’s desk. No humans were around for their fragile little ears to hear. No need to alert the mobs to grab their pitchforks…She walked on, not nearly as fast or graceful as usual, but still strong and powerful as she marched right on into her office, pulling the blinds closed and switching on the office light. Sunlight didn’t kill vampires, but it weakened them a bit, and without thinking about it much, Danna had already spent too much time in the sunlight. She had chased one of her vampire maids outside and had slaughtered her in the backyard for trying to steal a Deville family heirloom…Then she and Christian had to clean up the mess and while Christian called the maid service, Danna had gone out to find the other thieving house servant. No such luck, sadly, and luckily he had only ran off with a useless Bible or something. Still, too much time had been spent outside in the sun and now she felt almost sick…A bit of blood would fix her right up. Warm blood in a coffee cup. Yum.
While she waited on her requested drink, Danna sighed heavily and pulled open the top drawer of her desk and pulled out her pins and her stapler and set them all on top of her desk while grabbing a folder from the top of a small pile on her desk. Paperwork…Yuck. She honestly wasn’t sure what needed to be done…Whoever had been running the place before the big boss had shown up had not kept Danna very well informed of what was going on with the business. She was about to find out, though. Such boring work…It wasn’t nearly as much as people such as the CEO had to deal with, but still…She was used to more exciting and commanding roles…Not such monotonous things as this. Maybe she’d fire someone today…Just for fun…Then she’d have to fire someone else…Make them do silly things or something…She shook her head, though. No…This all needed to get done and she really did need to spent as little time in the office as possible.
“Sydney?! Did you hear me?” Danna called out. She could not focus on this without a good meal first.

WHEN I WANT YOU , i t s t o t a l r e v e n g e Sydney had to admit she had no idea how she had ended up in Louisiana again; it had been years since she had been so deep in the Southern states. She had left her mother without so much as a good bye; killed so many humans that she was known as a mass murderer. The thing was that she only killed at night and it was always out of view of witnesses. There was no way that the police knew what she looked like; only her victims got to see her before they died a horrible death. She had been keeping them at bay for years; teasing them with crime scenes that did not give them a single clue that could lead to her capture. Her murderous spree was worthy enough to grant her nick name; a name that struck both men and women with fear in their hearts. However all the things she had done could not compare to the things she had heard about the infamous Deville coven. Rape, torture, killing and many other horrible things were the covens bread and butter. They truly put her spree of murders to shame; which was exactly the reason she had to join them. The coven did not exactly welcome her with open arms but given what they were known for she did not honestly want a warm welcome from them.
However all the same she had been accepted into the coven and even gained the attention from the covens leader. She had to admit that she truly did admire Danna both as a leader and a strong vampire woman; someone who stuck it two men and strikes fear in the hearts of humans. It had seemed that Danna had wanted to get to know her better; but Sydney had no idea if that was a good or bad thing. From the day she had moved into the coven house she had been treated well and she had to admit she felt a little uncomfortable being around vampires like herself. Sure she was glad that they weren’t a bunch of happy go lucky pussies, which sort of made her, feel like she belonged. The others had not taken a liking to her for some strange reason; most likely because they thought she looked too young to have done all the things she had boasted about. It did not really matter if they believed her or not; Danna had promised that she would have a chance to prove herself. Her first chance was made apparent when she had been hired as Danna’s secretary.
It felt kind of strange sitting behind a desk in front of Danna’s office; but she figured that this should be considered an honor to serve her coven leader in anyway she can. She had just been playing solitaire on her computer when she noticed Danna brush past her asking for a thing of blood. She nodded as she stood up and went to the miniature kitchen. As the owner of the company it was no surprise that Danna had her own fridge and collection of glasses. It was not locked because anyone stupid enough to steal from her ended up dead in no time. She pulled out a coffee mug and then a packet of blood and filled up the mug. Just as soon as she was about to walk to Danna’s office she heard her boss yell her name. She cursed underneath her breath and hauled ass and walked into Danna’s office. “So sorry for keeping you waiting Ms. Deville”; she said in a soft voice as she walked closer and put the mug on her desk in front of her. Pissing of the woman who had founded the vilest coven was not a good idea; and Sydney would do everything she could to stay on her good side. She just stood there awkwardly because she had no idea if Danna wanted anything else before she went back to her desk. “Is there anything else I can get you Ms. Deville?”.

Retrieving members for her coven was the easy part--everyone wanted to be a badass, and what better way than joining a group of human-killing vampires? The Devilles were just your average blockbuster villains, right? People’s image of such things and being forced to face the harsh reality of it were two different things. Members left frequently, but were easy enough to replace. There were two groups: those who could not handle Danna’s Hitler-like qualities and those who were loyal minions. The former group, more often then not, ended up dead. The latter were the lucky few who got to live with her torment day in and day out. In her month or so of being here, Danna had gained a few new members, but the only member outside of her family who had lasted so far was a young woman named Sydney Crane. The very same Sydney Crane who was currently her personal secretary.
She was a good little thing…Very beautiful and very obedient, it seemed. Of course, she was taking a bit long with the blood for Danna’s liking, though her current state of vulnerability was making her grouchy. There was a small bit of potion a Witch in Los Angeles had given her before leaving that would help with the sun problem, but they had used that all up a few days on the beach. Danna would have to locate a Witch around New Orleans sooner or later. California and Louisiana were no Washington or Alaska. Forks had been cold and rainy all the time, and it had snowed a ton in Alaska. As bad as California could get, though, Louisiana seemed so much worse. It was hot, and the warmer weather came around very often. The sun was a very good friend to these Humans, and not so much for Vampires.
Bright green eyes glanced down at the closed folder, not feeling quite energized enough to open the new one. Shaking her head, Danna sighed and pulled open her drawer again, pulling out her compact and the small thing of contact lenses. Being known as Satan to each place she had reined in, Danna liked to keep up appearances with red eyes…Contact lenses, of course. They gave a somewhat devilish appearance to her otherwise angelic face. Normally she wouldn’t wear them around the office, but she doubted she’d see anyone but Sydney today. This was all about the paperwork, and keeping her more Satanic feature on around her made her feel more comfortable. Sighing again once they were in, Danna dropped the container and the compact back into her drawer and closed it before calling out to Sydney again. She was really going to need that blood and soon. She hated feeling so lethargic and useless. She was a woman of power…She enjoyed working and keeping busy, something that was hard to do when she felt like this.
Finally Sydney walked in with a mug of blood, and Danna nodded curtly, grasping the handle and eagerly downing the entire mug in a matter of seconds. It was warm and thick and very refreshing, working its magic quickly. In only a second or two she felt reenergized and in a far better mood. Licking her lips, Danna set the mug at the corner of her desk and looked up at her secretary as the woman spoke. “Call the maid services. Christian killed Janelle this morning…God only knows why, I didn’t care to ask…But we need a new maid. Request Fancy Bennett and Cedric Murray, I heard they’re both very good. They’ve dealt with…Our kind before,” Danna instructed, opening the folder and looking down at some contract from her lawyer. “Then make an all-call…Make sure no one comes in here at all…Call me if its an emergency. Then come back here and have a seat,” she said, glancing up and motioning to one of two chairs in front of her desk before looking back at the fine print.
They really did need new maids -- Danna certainly was not one for housekeeping, nor were her children. Hell House was quite a large estate for any one person to handle…Even two, even, but if Fancy and Cedric were getting her money, they’d have to deal with it. Maybe she’d hire and third and fourth, if necessary. Perhaps once Sydney was done, she might very well have other work to be doing, but Danna didn’t care. Danna was her boss in and out of work, and there were a few things that Danna wanted to take care of. One thing about Danna Deville was that she liked to know everything about everything. Especially people. Be they a threat or not, Danna kept files on every Being around here…Except, perhaps, Humans (unless they particularly stood out). Even her own coven members. Being well informed was not a bad thing by any means, and Danna intended to stay on top of things. She’d get Sydney on a few missions on finding things out…And she very well needed to figure out the girl herself. Danna didn’t trust people enough to trust everything they said on their own account…But hearing it from Sydney herself was a good place to start.

WHEN I WANT YOU , i t s t o t a l r e v e n g e Sydney had to admit she was a bit nervous walking into her boss’s office; Danna scared the shit out of her and her reputation was enough to scare anyone with a brain. The second she walked in Danna’s gaze suddenly went to her as she handed over the mug full of blood. To no surprise she drained the entire mug in a matter of seconds, which meant that she would be in a better mood now; which honestly was still a very bad thing for people she was pissed at. Sydney just stood there as Danna licked her lips and then looked at her again. As Danna gave her instructions she could not help but grin at the mention how her son killed their maid. Christian had a very short temper but he was very attractive; a deadly combo that had earned him the second in command of the coven. As she finished she nodded signaling that she understood what she was supposed to do. “Yes Ms. Deville”; she said softly as she turned around and walked out of her office and made a beeline for her desk. As she sat down she could not help but wonder what her boss wanted to talk to her about; as far as she knew she had been a very good employee. Sighing a bit she picked up the phone and dialed in a number.
“This is Ms. Deville’s personal secretary, send over Cedric Murry now”; she said in a stern voice as she hung up before the man could ask any questions. Questioning her was never a good idea; she had no problem spilling blood to get something she wanted. Grinning to herself a bit as she started making calls, telling everyone important in the company not to disturb Ms. Deville unless it was a dire situation. She was tempted to send a mass email to all the employees that if they disturbed her she would bite their head off; the thought made her giggle a bit to herself. Instead she just said that she was not to be disturbed for any reason. She knew that only the most of serious situations would excuse being bothered while she was talking to someone. Sighing a bit more she stood up and ran her hands over her shirt and pants taking a deep breath; even though she knew she did not have to breathe. So many things ran through her head as she walked back into her boss’s office and closed the door behind her. She was going to be fired that had to be it; or maybe Danna was pissed at her for something she had fucked up. If her heart still worked it would be going like a racecar; all she could do was smile as she sat down in one of the empty chairs in front of her desk.
She crossed her right leg over her left and tried to get comfortable; despite the facts that she was thinking of anything that she had done wrong. She would have asked what Danna wanted but odds were she was about to be informed why she was here. She had just started working here only days after joining the Deville coven; there was no way she could have screwed up so badly already. So they just sat there in silence waiting for her boss to speak; maybe she had to speak first. She was totally clueless about some aspects of Danna; something she had to over come if she was going to survive in her coven. Oh what she wouldn’t give for some sort of distraction now; but then again if anyone bothered Danna it would still be her ass all the same. Either way she was screwed six ways to Sunday and it was not very appealing to her. “What would you like to discuss Ms. Deville?”; she asked casually hoping that it would not be seen as impatience on her part. Now all she could do was wait for an answer and pray that she was not here to be fired and kicked out of the coven. After she had fled from her mother and killed her deadbeat of a fathers human whore there was no one to help her make it on the outside world.

There were idiots in the world who liked to underestimate Danna…Who looked at her and her reputation and scoff upon it…There were many fools out there who thought that standing up against Danna was a good thing. There were people who Danna would boss around who would talk back or flat out refuse. Sydney was not one of them. One would be surprised how many disrespectful morons Danna had dealt with in her time, and it was refreshing to have a secretary and coven member like Miss Crane…Someone who did what she was told without question or complaint. Of course, it was easy to look past the good qualities of one, so Sydney’s obvious virtue was left unseen as Danna went about her work, far too focused in her own responsibilities to worry about Sydney doing her own.
Contracts…All this lawyer babble could give one a headache, even a recently fed Vampire. Danna sighed heavily and swiftly pinned her long blond curls up in a cute little messy bun before returning to work. After looking over the paperwork, she signed her name at the bottom and set it to the side in her “complete” pile and looked at the next thing in her stack, rolling her eyes as Sydney entered the room. Ignoring the other woman for a moment, she slammed the sheet of paper to the opposite side of her desk and hit the 5 button on her office phone. “Adrian, why is it that Mr. Delaney felt it necessary to put this complaint in my office? Isn’t it his job to deal with these things? Manufacturing was the department he wanted to head so he gets to deal with the complaints. This is an old line of computers anyway, he can very easily handle it.” Danna barked as she began reading over a new proposal from R-Kade Industries, another attempt at combining companies.
“Oh…I’m not sure…I’ll…I’ll buzz him, Miss Deville. Do you want--” Adrian began asking, and Danna heard the shuffling of papers and him hissing at Harold for Jacob Delaney’s number. “No, don’t bother me, Adrian. I’ll send Sydney back down with the complaint in a little while. Just inform Mr. Delaney that he should be expecting it and to not bother me with such stupid stuff or I’ll have his head. Got it?” she said, voice loud and commanding as she balled up the letter from R-Kade Industries and threw it into the trashcan across the room. “Oh…Um…Of course, Miss Deville.” Nodding, Danna picked up the complaint and handed it across the desk to Sydney. “Bring that to Adrian Fox when you’re dismissed,” Danna told her, then opening the folder before her.
Hearing Sydney address her, Danna did not pause in her movements at all, didn’t even glance up at Sydney as she responded. “You, Miss Crane,” Danna replied, eying the appeal for higher wages. “Don’t I pay you people enough, Mr. Ericson?” Danna mumbled to herself, shaking her head and scribbling a rejection at the bottom of the paper. “I like to know about people. It tends to come in handy, in my experience,” she replied, moving the papers to the complete file before starting on another one. “Where were you born? Who are your parents? When’s your birthday? How old are you? Any significant others or illegitimate children? Or legitimate children, even? Any enemies I should be aware of? Were you born a Vampire, or were you changed into one? Have you been in any other covens?…” she fired off, sounding more like an interrogation than a questionnaire. She was half tempted to go on, but she figured she’d allow Sydney time to answer all she’d given her before adding more.
She could easily check up on all of this information later. It would be a good testament to how truthful Sydney Crane was. It didn’t matter to her whether the girl thought all of this was necessary or not…What Sydney thought didn’t matter at all. She knew what was useful and she knew what she was doing when it came to these things. All that mattered now was getting this paperwork done and carefully filing away any information Sydney gave her.

WHEN I WANT YOU , i t s t o t a l r e v e n g e Sydney did not know what to expect as she sat down in front of her boss’s desk but if she had to guess it was going to be bed. Danna talked on the phone and attacked paper work like mad. She was talking to Adrian at the moment and she just sat there until she heard her named mentioned. Danna handed her a piece of paper and gave her instructions to give it to Adrian when she was done. She nodded and took the piece of paper and held it in her hands. Obviously she had been called here for something more than delivering a complaint to some on in the company. So she just kept sitting there until her boss addressed her again; but did not even bother to look up at her. Then Danna started talking about how she liked to know about people and it made her wonder why she was actually bothering to ask her direct questions when she could simply have all this information brought to her some other way. She just nodded that she understood and she planned on answering every question truthfully. It was not like she was planning on lying to her boss and coven leader; a woman who could have her killed in an instant.
“Well I was born in a small hospital in Monroe, Louisiana. My father is Vincent Crane and my mother is Lily Elisa…. Unmarried”; she said in a calm voice. Yeah she could say all of this at once but she wanted to make sure that she spoke clearly and that she could be understood. “My birthday is June 7th, 1992 and I am 18 years old and I am an only child”; she said before taking another short pause. “I have no children whatsoever and my only enemies are the police”; she said with a slight grin at her private joke. "Both of my parents are vampires and I was born a vampire, and this is my first coven I have been in Ms.Deville”; she finished and then stopped talking. She could just tell that she was going to be asked more and she resisted the urge to sigh; this was annoying but she was still on the clock so she was still getting paid to talk about her past. So far she had not been asked anything too detailed about her life but Danna must have some sort of clue of what she had done, other wise she would not have been allowed to join the coven.
There was no point in asking that if there were more questions because she knew that there was more coming. She really did not want to brag about all of her murders she had committed. But it was not like Danna was going to be impressed considering all the things she and her coven had done to humans and fellow vampires alike. But she was known as the black widow; an infamous succubus who seduced men and women alike to have sex and then kill them in cold blood for kicks. The entire southern states were looking for her but they did not even know what she looked like, there was no chance in hell that she was going to be caught anytime soon. Danna would know but it was not like she would even think about turning her secretary into the police. If she were hauled away by police she would just kill them and flee the country; if imprisoned she would break out and kill anyone who tried to stop her. There was nothing they could do to her because of what she was; and even if she were caught it was not like justice would be served. Humans were stupid and could only be convinced that someone was guilty when they had tangible evidence. There was no D.N.A, there were no witnesses, and nothing tying her to any of the scenes, nothing they had against her.

Upon asking her questions, Danna never truly expected them to reveal something so precious to her. They were easy enough questions, intended mainly to learn a bit from Sydney and later on see if the girl was a liar or not. More difficult questions were to come, a main test of whether or not Sydney was someone she could trust or not. As Sydney began responding to her questions, though, any ideas of other questions faded away. Her eyes remained glued to the paper below her, but she could hardly comprehend the words. They all looked blurred and concentration was lost. The woman remained in position, not willing to lose face at a time like this. From her power she could easily feel her body heating up just as fast as her heart would be beating, if she were still alive. She felt too scared, too crazy to even let herself think of what her mind was daring to piece together.
Vincent Crane…Eighteen years old…Born on June 7th…Danna had never visited Louisiana before this year, though, and had certainly never been to Monroe. But still…Danna shook her head. What was the likelihood of one Vincent Crane having an eighteen year old daughter on the same day she had given birth to his daughter, eighteen years ago? Then again, what was the likelihood of said daughter to end up at her very company, securing a job as her personal secretary almost two decades later? It was insane, really. There were too many details pointing against the facts…And at the same time, many details that could possibly prove it to be true. With steady hands, Danna flipped over to the next page of the document she was trying to read, forcing herself to appear calm.
Danna Deville had only abandoned her coven a few select times in her life. It was during one of these times that she discovered she was pregnant, by none other than a man named Vincent Crane. Danna stayed away for the duration of her pregnancy and ended up giving birth to a baby girl she called Kiley Francesca Crane Deville. Like she had with all of her children, Danna adored Kiley , but that was not to last. Not too long after giving birth, Kiley went missing. The woman nearly tore apart Paris searching for Kiley, then went home and got her coven and family searching for her baby, but it was fruitless. Whoever had taken Kiley had been damn good…Very fucking good, and Danna hadn’t seen, nor allowed herself to think much about, her lost daughter since. She had thoroughly convinced herself that that baby had died…But with this information about Sydney, Danna had to wonder.
“You certainly do resemble your father,” Danna muttered, glancing up at Sydney, trying to see if she could find any Deville qualities in her. She felt so strange for doing so, but she had to know…If she wasn’t her, though, it would be a cruel act of fate…She didn’t want to be thinking about that part of her past, especially if this wasn’t the daughter she had lost. Of course, she could hardly ask Sydney all of that…No, she’d have to go to Vincent Crane himself for that. She certainly wasn’t about to reveal her theory to Sydney…It was too silly to just out and blab to someone. Hell even going to Vincent with it would sound insane! She had several private investigators to go to, but she wasn’t sure how much good that would do…She could go find a Witch and see if they had any spells that could tell her anything…Or hunt down a Vampire with the ability to see into the past…Of course, the likelihood of either was very slim… “So when was the last time you were in contact with your fath--…parents?”

WHEN I WANT YOU , i t s t o t a l r e v e n g e Sydney noticed that as she answered her bosses questions that she strained more and more to focus on the paperwork in front of her. It was not really her place to ask what was bugging her boss; Danna had to reputation of snapping and killing people that pestered her and Sydney personally did not want to end up dead or worse at the hands of Danna or any of her children. She shuddered at the thought of being locked down in the basement of their coven house; at the mercy of her coven and them to free to do whatever they wanted to her body. Rape and torture were the standards that the coven was known for and Sydney did not want to be on the receiving end on that kind of pain and humiliation. So she just kept answering questions and tired not to wonder what was going on her bosses mind. To be honest she was really sick of talking about her shitty past, her whore of a mother and her bastard of a father. What she would have given to have given to have parents who actually did not suck. Hell she would have taken Danna as a mother, at least that way she would be around more and actually give a damn about her.
Finally she stopped talking and was glad to know that at least for now there would be no more questions. She was grateful that Danna had taken her into the coven and had given her a high paying job; but it was honestly none of her damn business what kind of shitty ass life her secretary had lived. Then again pissing her off was not a good idea and despite how tough she was, no way in hell she could match the cruelty of Danna Deville. Now they were sitting in silence and then her boss started paying more attention to her, something that was almost cause for alarm. Then what Danna said next shocked her quite a bit and almost made her question her boss. How in the hell could Danna know that she resembled her father; she had no damn clue what he even looked like. She wanted to hiss and slap Danna for even saying that, how dare she compare her to that bastard of a vampire. But she swallowed her pride and just kept her cool, not like she was about to start a fight with her coven leader over a man she wished was dead. Hell she was not even going to dignify it with a response, let Danna be pissed at her for not responding if she wanted too. In all honesty she should have killed him the day they met again, the day he killed his human whore of a girlfriend. Pushing that pleasant thought aside she brought her attention back to the present, would Danna ask why she had lost contact with her father? She was not ashamed to tell how she had killed his girlfriend; hell she was proud she had done it.
And then Danna asked another question, one that she had actually been thinking about but she had to admit it threw her off her a guard just a little bit. She did not want to talk about her parents more but she figured that she really did not have much of a choice in the matter. Nodding she uncrossed her leg and crossed her left leg over her right, trying not to fidget at how angry she was becoming just thinking about the two worthless pieces of crap that created her. “Well I have not seen my mother in eight years, I ran away when I was ten”; she said calmly as if it were no big deal. If Danna wanted to know the details then she would just have to ask, for now just let her assume her own reasons why her secretary had run away at such a young age. “And well as for my father… it has been a few months since we crossed paths again”; she said and could not help but smirk at the memory of that day. Again let her boss assume whatever she wished; it would have to be asked in the form of a question if she wanted to know more.

Upon the mention of her parents, Danna immediately sensed a change in atmosphere. There was no drastic change in facial expression or in body position, but it was a certain air around Sydney that changed, become almost hostile and angry. Danna glanced up curiously and refrained from smiling quite smugly. If the girl hated Vincent, that was good for her…Only if her theory was true, of course. Danna didn’t comment on the things she sensed, and instead went on. She nodded slowly at Sydney’s responses and let silence fall upon them for a few moments. She pretended to keep reading, but it was hard to focus on anything now. If this was her Kiley, she had to know. But how would she ever find out…? A blood test? Sure…But that require getting blood. Certain dread filled Danna when she realized that the only way she was going to figure this out was by mentioning her thoughts to Sydney--something she did not want to do. She didn’t want to sound like an idiot, and she was certain she’d sound right crazy. She didn’t want to be disappointed if the girl immediately came up with something to prove it couldn’t be true.
But she had to know.
Finally, Danna cleared her throat and closed the folder, folding her hands over the desk and looking up at Sydney. “My daughter, Alexis…Was attacked by a shape shifter when she was three years old…Did you know that?” Danna asked, keeping her voice steady and strong. The very memory, though, was painful. “She was injured…And I believed that my eldest daughter, Sadie, was dead. I don’t think I had ever been so…Upset…or…or lost in my life,” Danna explained. She was not one who particularly enjoyed sharing such personal or vulnerable stories with anyone…But the whole story was important to her…Thinking of all the pain she had suffered in such a short amount of time. “I ran off to Paris…For a while. Found out I was pregnant…By your father…Vincent Crane. In Paris I had a…A beautiful baby girl I named Kiley Francesca Crane Deville…Eighteen years ago…On June 7th,” she explained, shifting slightly in her seat. It was hard, fighting the emotion out of her voice…
She had been so happy then…So excited to have a new baby girl when she had already lost one of her children. It was the next part, though, that was the hardest to talk about. She refused, though, to break down just talking about it, to let her emotions get the better of her. “I hadn’t had her…One month…Before she was taken from me…Kidnapped. I tried looking for her, but…I never had any luck finding her,” Danna said, having to pause and bite the inside of her lip hard. She could feel a certain stinging in her eyes and she refused to express so much of herself to this girl…Refused. “Tell me, Miss Crane…What is the likelihood of that?” she asked, feeling all of her hope and desperation piled up high in her…She was so filled with it, she felt she might burst. She had to know…And only Sydney could tell her if it was a crazy idea or not.

WHEN I WANT YOU , i t s t o t a l r e v e n g e Sydney could not help but feel that Danna was leading up to something but she could not for the life of her figure it out. So she just sat there in silence sure that she would be asked more questions but she was really surprised when her boss closed the folder and actually looked at her. With the full attention of Ms. Deville she was starting to feel nervous because now she was certain that she was going to get it. She was about to speak but Danna cleared her throat and Sydney figured that there was no chance in hell she was going to interrupt her boss. She started talking about her daughter and how she was attacked. She was new to the coven and she had never heard of any of this stuff before. She just sat there and felt there was a good reason she was being told all of this stuff about her daughters. Then the story changed and Sydney started to get tense and she started to feel pissed off at the mention of her bastard of a father. She wanted to ask Danna to stop but the story was getting even more interesting. She could not tell if this was a lie or just some sort of test.
But the more detail Danna went into the more and more truthful it sounded. This really made her doubt everything she thought she knew about her past; was she actually the daughter of Danna and not her whore of a mother that she thought she had been her entire life. Oh she really wanted to believe that she was the daughter of a rich and powerful woman but it seemed too good to be true. Still she listened and questioned all that she was told. It really made sense and she would not put it past Vincent to lie to her. If it were true then her real name was Kiley and not Sydney, which she had to admit was an improvement because she hated her damn name. She could not help notice that Danna was actually fighting her emotions back from her voice; was it possible for her to get sad? She had to admit that she felt bad for Danna; even she would be torn apart if she had lost her baby girl. Then the mood got sadder as Danna went on; Sydney truly felt bad for Danna now. And it really made sense because she had hated the woman that claimed to be her mother all this time.
Who would have kidnapped her as a baby; it truly took a monster to tear her away from her true mother. Part of her wanted to cry because despite all the odds she had found her real mother. She was not mad at her at all because of all the effort she had put into finding her. There was no doubt in her mind because there was a little voice telling her that Danna was being honest. A nagging that told her that this was her real mother and the old woman that had raised her was slowly being erased from her mind. She nodded and felt a small smile spread across her face; and she rarely smiled unless she had killed someone. It was not crazy at all because deep down she knew it was true; and Sydney always went with her gut because it was never wrong. “I would say that the odds are very good…. mom”; she said and just did her best to hold back her tears. And truly she did not want to upset Danna because the woman had been through so much shit and could not take anymore. She was very happy to have found her true mother but she was not about to run up and hug her. She had a reputation and showing emotions was not one of them; but she did smiley brightly as she said mom. She truly was a Deville after all which meant that she could discard her old name. She would have to legally change her name but she was so happy to be rid of the name Sydney Crane. There was no way that her true mother would have named her after a fucking city in a sun blasted place in Australia.

It was hard to tell by looking at Sydney whether or not it could be true. Most of Danna’s children tended to look like their father. Curtis had never been born, so she wasn’t sure about him; Christian resembled Sivious greatly, though he had her eyes; Sadie was a nice mix of both of her parents; Hailey favored Danna more than Zourok (thank God); Dominic was like Jonathon’s twin, almost!; Alexis was also a good mix of both of her parents, though Danna saw more of Paul in her than herself; then she hadn’t seen Lucius in years, though she always thought he looked more like his father. The Deville genes tended to show up in less physical ways, so judging purely on looks was impossible. Sydney certainly fit into the coven well enough to be one of her own, but how could she be really sure?
As obvious as the facts seemed to be, there was part of her that was afraid to believe in it. She had lost so much and had been hurt a great deal when it came to her children. From miscarrying Curtis, to Sadie running away, to Alexis getting hurt, believing Sadie was dead, losing Kiley, leaving Lucius behind, fighting with Alexis, Alexis running off to Paris, Sadie leaving to “find herself”, and Dominic’s decision to stay in Los Angeles…All she had now were Christian and Hailey, and as amazing as it would be to add her lovely Kiley back into the family, she was scared…Scared of being hurt by her or her not being Kiley at all…Of believing it and finding out later that it was all some big, stupid mistake. She didn’t want that…No it was better to not get hurt, because the woman honestly wasn’t sure how much more she could take. Danna was strong…She managed to overcome everything she had been put through so far…But how long would that strength last?
Of course, a silly thing like fear wasn’t going to hold Danna back. She wanted to know, and she needed to know. She allowed herself to share very personal moments and feelings in her own life, believing more and more each second that this woman before her had to be Kiley. Ever since the very thought of it entered her head, she had felt this sort of bond and connection towards her. Maybe it was some pent up desire for her to be it, but she wasn’t so sure. Maybe she was it…Danna really hoped she was. It was all so wonderful and so far-fetched…But really. What was more far-fetched? Some how magically reuniting with a daughter you had lost eighteen years later? Or finding out the man who had impregnated you had somehow managed to have another child on the same date and of the same sex with a complete other woman?
Luckily, it seemed Sydney had the same idea.
The amount of relief Danna felt was extraordinary. Relief and joy…Of course she didn’t know for sure yet, but…Well…She had to be it! When Sydney called her “mom”, it was hard not to grin. Danna shook her head and considered the woman a bit longer, finding more Deville traits in her now and then…Yes…Yes, she had to be one of them. “Now of all those years looking for you, I expected to hunt down one of my enemies and find you held captive…Not to run into my lovely Kiley Francesca working as my secretary and in my coven…Before I even knew it was her,” Danna mused, shaking her head. “So how does it feel to be a real Deville?” Danna asked with a smirk. “I’d ask if you planned on sticking with “Crane”, but I get the feeling you’re not Vincent’s biggest fan…” She giggled, honestly amused by the idea. Served that man right…He’d taken her daughter! He deserved to have her hate him. Pursing her lips, Danna glanced at her phone. “I do have my lawyer on speed dial…”
Go figure.

WHEN I WANT YOU , i t s t o t a l r e v e n g e Kiley had already ditched her false name and was so relieved to finally be face to face with her birth mother. She would not allow herself to run up and hug her mother but she just kept grinning; something that she had not done since she killed her fathers girlfriend in front of him. Danna shared her joy because now she could not stop grinning but they were both strong women and would not allow themselves to cry no matter how happy they both were. She had to admit that the odds of them meeting like this was very slim and yet here they were. She had no idea that she would in her mother’s coven and working for her without even know it. She smiled more at the sound of her true name because it just sounded so right to her when Danna said it. Knowing that she was a true Deville really made her happy and it explained why she was a coldhearted killer; like mother like daughter. “Well I have to admit it feels simply amazing knowing where I actually belong mom”; she could not get over saying mom. Did this mean that she did not have to call Danna boss anymore? She did not know where the formalities lied when working for ones mother.
The mention of Vincent nearly made her growl again, all the shit she had gone through because he did not feel like sticking around. Kidnapping her from Danna and then acting like she did not exist in the first place. She nodded in agreement because she had no intention on keeping the name Sydney Crane at all. “I hate my father so much mom, but I got back at him when I killed his whore of a human girlfriend”; she smirked very pleased at what she had done. She laughed a little when her mother mentioned how she had her lawyer on speed dial. She had just been thinking the same thing, no way she was ever going to keep that bastards last name. “Of course mom, I want my name to rightfully be Kiley Francesca Deville…. not a single mention of Crane”; she said with a hiss as if she could just spit to get the horrible taste she got out of saying that name. One call and some paper work and then she would be a true Deville, well at least in the eyes of the law. Which she found ironic since she was still on the run from the law; which she would have to bring up to her mother sooner or later. Not like she would be scolded, hell Danna would praise her for being so much like her. Then it hit her that since she was her daughter that meant that she had siblings. For the longest time she thought she was an only child and to be honest she had so much to learn about her family.
“Oh mom I have so much to learn about my family, I thought I was an only child but now I am part of a big family”; she said in a somewhat happy tone of voice. She had no clue how many siblings she had and she was sure that they were unaware of her existence, which would be taken care of soon enough. She felt so out of the loop now and she was simply overwhelmed at the implications now; she was a Deville and she knew she belonged but she was clueless about her families past. And then there was the issue of Vincent because now he had to pay for doing this to her and her mother. “Mom I have been thinking and I believe that Vincent has to pay and permanently too”; she said as a wicked grin over came her face. The only way she would be happy if he was dead and buried and she was sure that her mother would agree very much with her. Besides his death meant that she would get all of his money, which made her smile even more. Of course her mother was very rich but the thought of spending his money would just be a giant screw you to him.

Mom. As if she hadn’t heard that word a million times in her life. The woman had seven living children! She’d only raised six of them, but still. She heard it on an everyday basis, and now and then it would lose its charm. But no matter what, whenever her child would first call her “mom” or “mommy” or “momma” or some variation of the word, it always pleased her. Even though Kiley was eighteen years old, she was still her daughter and it was still the few times she had called her mom. Kiley seemed to be enjoying the word, and Danna had to admit to finding some pleasure in it herself. The urge to rush over there and pull Kiley into her arms was overwhelming, but she wasn’t going to lose control. She stayed calm as could be at her desk, unable to hide the magnificence of her happiness. She was brimming over with joy and pleasure and even if she tried, she couldn’t have hidden it. The full extent, though, would be kept to herself.
“And it’s quite the place to belong to,” Danna said with amusement clear in her voice. She could have very well squealed in delight and did herself a happy dance, but there was no need for embarrassment. Kiley was glad to know where she belonged…And belonging to the Devilles, she was a lucky fucking girl. Danna was just happy to finally know what had become of her little Kiley…She was sore with Vincent for making her miss so much of the girl’s life, but she was grateful now to have her Kiley back and to have the opportunity to get to know her. Hopefully things with Kiley would work out better than they had with Sadie and Alexis, but there would be no promises, she supposed. She’d just have to wait and see and get to know her daughter and hope for the best. She didn’t want to lose anymore.
By now, Danna hated Vincent Crane with an insane passion. The man deserved to suffer and she would certainly give him his due. Kiley seemed to share the idea and Danna giggled as the girl expressed just how much. “Perfect. How very, very perfect!” Danna said, thoroughly pleased. Now her Kiley could be a Deville -- a true Deville. “Atta girl…You truly are your mother’s daughter…I knew you fit in too well to be not related to me,” she went on, smirking smugly. Of course only those of her genes could be so cruel and clever. She snickered and shook her head at Kiley’s idea. “Well that would screw up my tradition…All of my children have their father and mother’s surnames,” she explained, pursing her lips. All of her children bore four names and it seemed such a shame to ruin tradition. “Unless there’s someone else you wanna call Daddy and can come up with another name,” she suggested with a shrug. “At any rate, Kiley Francesca sounds so much better than Sydney, doesn’t it? No offense,” she said, though she hardly sounded apologetic at all.
Danna let out a low whistle as Kiley mentioned having to know so much about their large family. “Good God, girl, yes…” Danna said, shaking her head. “You have six living siblings, not to mention everyone else in the family…” she said, smirking. “Care to start now? Or should we save it for later?” Danna inquired, flipping open a new folder. She could all too easily multi task. Of course, Kiley spoke of Vincent before Danna could put too much focus into work. “Yes…Why that does sound like a marvelous idea!” Danna said happily. “He shouldn’t be too hard to trace, should he? And we can always give him a tour of the basement…”

WHEN I WANT YOU , i t s t o t a l r e v e n g e Kiley nodded in agreement with her mother; the Deville family was quite the place to belong to in this modern world. She could just see how happy she had made her mother and she could not blame her; she was still giddy over finding her true mother after all these years. She really wanted to hug her mother so badly but she just kept her seat and kept grinning. Oh how she hated Vincent for taking her when she was a baby but she knew that he was going to pay dearly for it. She figured that she had belonged in the coven before she learned who she really was. Danna had taking a liking to her when she had walked into the coven house; and Kiley could not blame her. She was a cut throat bitch that had killed dozens of humans since she turned ten. She had so much to share with her mother and she would in time but for now she had to learn more about her family if she was going to make it in the family. She noticed Danna actually giggled at how much her daughter hated the bastard; and she had never had heard Danna giggle before.
From what she had seen from her mother so far she sort of had a hard time believing that this was the same woman. She was smiling and giddy when she usually was sour and bitchy but it was not like Kiley was complaining about it. She nodded in agreement again; there was no way the two could not be related because it was painfully obvious now. Now her mother was talking about tradition and how her kids took both their mother and fathers name. She wanted to hiss and refuse to take her father’s name but it was not like she was going to disobey her mother. “Well I suppose I do not want to break tradition mom, even though I hate him to death I will keep my father’s name”; she said with bitterness in her voice. Though she took the name Crane it was not like she would ever bring the name up again so long as she was immortal. She laughed when her mother said how her real name was much better than Sydney and she had to agree. And she noticed how her mother’s tone of voice did not sound apologetic at all; but it was not like she minded one bit. “It’s okay mom to be quite honest I have detested my name since I was born”; she said in a cheerier tone of voice now that she had put her father out of mind yet again.
It surprised her to learn that she had six siblings including the rest of her family; she had no clue that the Devilles were that big. She whistled in return and tried to wrap her mind around how much she had to learn now that she had agreed to take back her birth name. “Wow mom I had no idea that our family was that big”; she said but she was determined to learn everything that her siblings had learned growing up with their mother. Danna picked up a new folder and offered to start drilling on the family now but of course Kiley just had to interrupt her mother with the prospect of getting her father back. Of course her mother agreed which did not surprise her at all. Of course she had information that could save them the trouble of hunting him down. “Yes mom I agree that he will have to pay, but we might not have to look far for him”; she said but refused to use his name anymore because it just pissed her off. The thought of him being locked in their basement made her smile even more; and she knew that sooner or later it would happen. “The last I heard the bastard was still somewhere in the state, finding him will not be that hard if he is still somewhere under our noses”; she said and could not stop herself from giggling at the thought of hunting him down and torturing him for taking her from where she belonged.
